How the numbers are built.
A result you can defend to a finance partner has to be honest about its assumptions.
Conservative by default
Realistic automation shares, an adoption ramp, and a downside case shown next to the expected one.
Hard savings in the headline
Freed capacity and soft benefits are shown separately and never added to the return.
Every number visible and editable
You can see and change each assumption behind the result, and the working is shown step by step.

About the calculator.
How the result is built, what it leaves out, and what happens to your numbers.
From the volume, handling time, salary, error cost and investment you enter. It works out the hours saved, the labour and error savings, and a three-year cash flow with an adoption ramp, then reports return on investment, payback and net present value. Every step is shown under How we calculated this, with your own numbers.
Only hard savings count in the headline. Saved hours are cash only if overtime, contractors or hiring actually fall; otherwise they are freed capacity, which is shown separately. Revenue uplift, retention, morale and compliance risk are never added to the return.
It is an estimate, and it is only as good as the numbers you enter. The template defaults are our own starting points, not published benchmarks, so replace them with your own. The result is shown as a range, with a conservative case beside the expected one.
A process that is not ready for automation should not show a flattering result. The eight questions can lower the automatable share, or cap it at 40%, so the figures stay realistic.
While you use the calculator, they stay in your browser, which keeps your answers for up to a week so you can come back to them; Start over clears them. If you ask for the detailed report, we receive your name, work email, company, optionally your role and country, and the figures you entered. We keep your salary as a band, not the exact figure. See the privacy policy.
Bring your result to a call. We will tell you where we would start and what we would leave alone.
