How would you describe your organisation's AI strategy?

Choose what is true today, not what is planned. If two answers fit, choose the lower one.

About the assessment.

What it measures, how to read the score, and what happens to your answers.

AI readiness is how prepared an organisation is to adopt AI safely and get value from it. This assessment looks at five areas: strategy and use cases, data readiness, technology and infrastructure, people and skills, and governance, risk and compliance.

Each of the 25 questions scores 0 to 3, so each area scores out of 15. The five areas are then weighted: data 25%, strategy 20%, people 20%, governance 20% and technology 15%, giving a score out of 100. Data and governance gaps hurt small businesses more than gaps elsewhere, so they carry more weight. If any single area scores 4 or less out of 15, the overall band cannot be higher than Developing.

A score of 65 or more means your foundations are strong enough to run pilots safely. From 45 to 64 you have some foundations but gaps that could make a pilot fail. Below 45, build the basics first. Two businesses with the same total can need different actions, so look at the five area scores as well as the total.

Fix your weakest area first. Write an AI use policy, make sure key data is in one place and checked, secure the basics, then run one low-risk pilot. The result page lists the three questions where you scored lowest and what the next step up looks like.

Your score out of 100, your band, the recommended next step and any red flags are shown straight away. The full report adds your five-area profile and the three questions where you scored lowest with the next step up for each, and a copy is emailed to you.

It is a self-assessment, so it is only as reliable as the answers. Self-assessments tend to run optimistic, so choose the option that is true today, not the one you plan for, and if two seem to fit, choose the lower one. The result is indicative and is not a benchmark against other companies. We can review the evidence behind your answers with you.
